St. Philip's Church, situated at the southern corner of Earl's Court and Stratford Roads, was built to designs by Thomas Johnson of Lichfield in 1857–8 and enlarged in 1863. St. Philip's was one of the earlier products of the Kensington church-building boom of 1850–85.
