Claude of France (13 October 1499 – 20 July 1524) was the ruling Duchess of Brittany from 1514 until her death in 1524 and Queen of France by marriage to King Francis I, which was also in 1514, shortly before he became king on the death of her father.

Claude, Duchess of Brittany. Anne of Brittany's second marriage making her Queen Consort of France continued into the 16th century; and she died in 1514. Queen Claude of France, reigned as duchess of Brittany from 1514, but under her husband king Francis was not able to maintain an independent government in the Duchy of Brittany.
12 de mar. de 2021 · When her mother died in January 1514, Claude became Duchess of Brittany. Four months later, she married Francis. Claude of France’s Public Functions. On 1 January 1515, King Louis died, and Francis succeeded him as King and Claude became Queen.

20 de jul. de 2020 · • Claude became Duchess of Brittany on her mother’s death in January 1514. • On 18th May 1514, Claude married Francis, and on 9th October 1514, her father married Mary Tudor, sister of King Henry VIII. However, Louis’ marriage was shortlived as he died on 1st January 1515.
