Colin Higgins (28 July 1941 – 5 August 1988) was an Australian-American screenwriter, actor, director, and producer. He was best known for writing the screenplay for the 1971 film Harold and Maude , [1] and for directing the films Foul Play (1978) and 9 to 5 (1980).

1941. Hollywood screenwriter, director, producer, Colin Patrick Higgins was born on July 28th, 1941 in Nemea, New Caledonia, a French territorial island in the South Pacific. His mother was Australian and his father American. Colin spent his childhood in a suburb of Sydney Australia. The Higgins family grew to six sons, including a set of twins.

For many years he was known by fans as 'Fake Wedge' until a retcon finally gave his character a unique name and backstory, that of Colonel Takbright. Colin Higgins was a British actor famous for many appearances on British television. In 1977 Higgins was cast as Wedge Antilles in Star Wars and appears in the role for one scene only.
