Edwin Gilbert Cooley Vocational High School (also known as Cooley Vocational High School and Upper Grade Center, commonly known as Cooley High) was a public 4–year vocational high school and middle school located in the Old Town neighborhood on the Near North Side of Chicago, Illinois, United States.

29 de jun. de 2023 · Cooley High School’s first year was in the 1958-59 school year with the first graduating class being the class of 1959. Cooley High was closed in 1979 due to the age of the building. The school was replaced by Near North High School.

24 de abr. de 2022 · The film’s namesake was Edwin G. Cooley Vocational High School, at Sedgwick and Division streets, alongside the Cabrini-Green public-housing complex. Operating from 1958 to 1979, Cooley High replaced Washburne Trade, which in turn succeeded the original Lane Tech, before it was relocated to its current home in Lakeview.
Cooley High is a 1975 American coming-of-age comedy-drama film that follows the narrative of high school seniors and best friends, Leroy "Preach" Jackson (Glynn Turman) and Richard "Cochise" Morris (Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs).
