Countess Charlotte of Hanau-Lichtenberg, full name: Countess Charlotte Christine Magdalene Johanna of Hanau-Lichtenberg (2 May 1700, Bouxwiller – 1 July 1726, Darmstadt) was the wife of landgrave Louis VIII of Hesse-Darmstadt.

As a result of the marriage Landgrave Ludwig VIII received Hanau-Lichtenberg as an addition to his dominions. Because of his passion for hunting, he is known as the “Hunting Landgrave” (German: Jagdlandgraf).
In 1717, he was married to Countess Charlotte Christine of Hanau-Lichtenberg and he received Hanau-Lichtenberg as an addition to his dominions. His mistress was Helena Martini. Because of his passion for hunting, he is known as the "Hunting Landgrave" (German: Jagdlandgraf).
Louis IX was a son of Louis VIII, Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt, and Charlotte of Hanau-Lichtenberg and Müntzenberg. He was born in Darmstadt on 15 December 1719. On 12 August 1741, Louis married Caroline , daughter of Christian III, Duke of Zweibrücken .
