Dorothée de Simmern (6 janvier 1581 - 18 septembre 1631) est une comtesse palatine de Palatinat-Simmern par la naissance et princesse d'Anhalt-Dessau par mariage. (fr) Dorothea van Palts-Lautern' (Kaiserslautern, 6 januari 1581 - Sandersleben, 18 september 1631) was een gravin van Palts-Lautern bij geboorte en door haar huwelijk met Johan George I van Anhalt-Dessau vorstin van Anhalt-Dessau.
Life. Elisabeth was born in Birkenfeld, the daughter of Frederick III, Elector Palatine, and his wife, Marie of Brandenburg-Kulmbach. Elisabeth was the third child of the couple and the second to reached adulthood. On 12 June 1558 in Weimar, Elisabeth married John Frederick II, Duke of Saxony, eldest son of John Frederick I, Elector of Saxony.
18 de dic. de 2023 · John Frederick was taken prisoner and would spend the rest of his life (29 years) in imperial captivity. He was brought to Dresden and in June 1567 to Wiener Neustadt. Duchess Elisabeth and her children fled to Eisenach and then to her sister Dorothea Susanne of Simmern, who was married to her husband's brother, Duke John William of Saxe-Weimar.

Life Dorothea was born in Kaiserslautern , the only surviving child of the Count Palatine John Casimir of Simmern (1543–1592) from his marriage to Elisabeth (1552–1590), the daughter of Elector August of Saxony .
