Crickhowell is a picturesque town nestling in the beautiful Usk Valley and lying to the south of the Black Mountains, the eastern range of the The Brecon Beacons National Park, Bannau Brycheiniog. The town and its surrounding villages have attractions that are enticements for all visitors to this wonderful corner of Wales.

12 de oct. de 2023 · Crickhowell is a tiny town that lies on the River Usk in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. The Georgian town is remarkably well-preserved and makes a good spot to base yourself for exploring the national park. As a Welshman, I’ve spent most of my life living and travelling in Wales so I’ve passed through on many occasions.

A settlement has existed here at least since iron-age settlers built a fort on the top of Crug Hywel, also called Table Mountain after its flat top.
