Désirée married Baron Niclas Silfverschiöld (1934–2017) in 1964, and has lived at Koberg Castle in Västergötland since then. The couple have three children: Carl (born 1965), Christina Louise (born 1966) and Hélène (born 1968). Three princesses at Haga: Birgitta, Margaretha and Desirée. 19 de may. de 2017 · Désirée went to live in Rome with Julie and Joseph. She was briefly engaged to a French General, Mathurin-Léonard Duphot. He was killed in an anti-French riot on 30 December 1797. Désirée returned to France, where she met her future husband, Jean Baptiste Jules Bernadotte.
Bernadotte is thrilled to see Désirée again and proposes marriage to her. By July 4, 1799, Désirée and Bernadotte have happily settled into married life and have a son, Oscar (Nicholas Koster). On November 9, 1799, Napoleon is proclaimed First Consul of the French Republic and asks Bernadotte to join his council of state, and Bernadotte agrees.
