The band was founded by lead guitarist Rob Davis, lead vocalist Les Gray, drummer Dave Mount (born 3 March 1947, Carshalton; died 2 December 2006, St Helier Hospital, Carshalton) and bassist Ray Stiles (born 20 November 1946, Guildford, Surrey).

23 de ene. de 2024 · Dave Mount. Dave Mount retired from music and worked as a financial adviser and a postman. He died in 2006 of a suspected suicide. He was 59 years old. Ray Stiles. Ray joined The Hollies in 1986 and is still a member of the band. He also lives in Surrey and has a son1.
Dave Mount left the music business entirely in the early 1980s. He continued to live and work in London with his family until his untimely death on 3rd December 2006. During the 1980/90s (not sure of the exact dates) the “new” MUD re-recorded all the old RAK hits for a CD that was sold at concert.
Successful UK pop / glam band. Mud was founded by singer Les Gray and drummer Dave Mount. They formed a band with bass player Ray Stiles and guitarist Rob Davis. On being discovered by producer Mickie Most during a gig, they were hooked up with writer / producer partners Chinn And Chapman.
Dave Mount. Drums and backing vocals. 3rd March 1947 - 3rd December 2006. Dave was something of a late starter musically - he was fifteen before he got his first drum kit. It was at this time that he joined Rob Davis’ new band The Apaches. After leaving school Dave became and apprentice with the South Eastern Electricity Board.
