Sir David Bowes-Lyon KCVO (2 May 1902 – 13 September 1961) was the tenth and youngest child and the sixth son of Claude Bowes-Lyon, 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, and Cecilia Nina Cavendish-Bentinck. He was the younger brother of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and uncle to Queen Elizabeth II.

26 de abr. de 2024 · During his stay there, David Bowes-Lyon reportedly experienced a hemiplegic stroke, and suffered from a heart attack that proved to be fatal. When his sister checked on him in his room, she discovered his lifeless body. He was 59 years old. His funeral was held at St. Paul's Church in Hertfordshire, where he was buried.

David Bowes-Lyon. David Bowes-Lyon was the sixth son of the ten children of Claude George Bowes-Lyon, 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne. His elder sister became Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. He was at the Ministry of Economic Warfare in 1940 before moving to the British Embassy in Washington between 1942 and 1944.

Bowes-Lyon family. The Bowes-Lyon family descends from George Bowes of Gibside and Streatlam Castle (1701–1760), a County Durham landowner and politician, through John Bowes, 9th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, chief of the Clan Lyon.
