Hace 4 días · The Little Dean’s Yard and some buildings in the Westminster School contain portions built prior to the 14th century main cloister (rebuilt after a fire in 1298).
Hace 2 días · So many of the buildings in Dean's Yard are, or have been at some former period, closely connected with Westminster School, that no apology is needed for speaking of that ancient enclosure in this present chapter. The ordinary public entrance to Dean's Yard is under a Gothic archway, which opens into the Broad Sanctuary.

The 35 square miles of thick woodland in western Gloucestershire, “this heart-shaped land” as native playwright Dennis Potter called it, became England’s first national forest park in 1938.
