  1. The Defence Helicopter Flying School (DHFS) was a military flying school based at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire, England. The school, established in 1997, was a tri-service organisation and trained helicopter aircrews for all three British armed forces.

  4. 2 de sept. de 2019 · The upgraded facilities were only opened in April and the Defence Helicopter Flying School has already seen its first set of pilots graduate. The school now boasts 29 Juno helicopters - the biggest fleet in the country, as well as three Jupiter aircraft. The new helicopters have modern touch-screen avionic displays.

Civilian contractors run a fleet of civilian owned, military registered (COMAR) training airframes under contract to MoD. Covers basic single engine to advanced multi-engine & SAR training.

  6. In February 2020, the Defence Helicopter Flying School based at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire, was renamed No. 1 Flying Training School and operates 29 Airbus H135 'Juno' and 3 Airbus H145 'Jupiter'.

  7. 23 de ago. de 2019 · ON 23 August 2019, a total of 22 tri-Service aircrew graduated from the Defence Helicopter Flying School (DHFS) at RAF Shawbury. The parade celebrated both the graduation of the first 13 pilots to complete their training within the Rotary Wing UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) as well as the graduation of 9 helicopter Rearcrew.
