The Coronation of King Edward VII was celebrated here in the historic year 1903 during the second Delhi Durbar (court).

The queen did not attend personally, but she was represented there by the Viceroy, Lord Lytton. A similar durbar was held on 1 January 1903 to celebrate the accession of Edward VII, who was represented by his brother the Duke of Connaught.
