Der Ruf war eine 1946 in München gegründete deutsche kulturpolitische Zeitschrift mit dem programmatischen Untertitel „Unabhängige Blätter der jungen Generation“. Die politische Orientierung der Zeitschrift entsprach einem „sozialistischen Humanismus“. Ihre Gründer gelten als Wegbereiter der Gruppe 47.

Der Ruf or The Call was a German language newspaper published in Fort Kearny in Narragansett, Rhode Island during World War II by captured prisoners of war (POWs). It was distributed to about 140 other POW camps in the United States.

However, Germany turns out to be an enormous disappointment to the returnee. Even among his peers, Mauthner continues to feel the old aversion to his Jewish descent.
