  1. 21 de ene. de 2018 · Diploid Definition. Diploid describes a cell or nucleus which contains two copies of genetic material, or a complete set of chromosomes, paired with their homologs (chromosome carrying the same information from the other parent). By maintaining two copies of the genetic code, diploid organisms obtain an advantage by having greater genetic ...

  2. To that end, we define a vector quantity known as an electric dipole moment as follows: Figure 1.4.1 – Electric Dipole Moment. The magnitude of the dipole moment is defined as the product of the absolute value of one of the two charges, multiplied by the distance separating the two charges: The direction of the dipole moment is that it points ...

  3. Dipole-Dipole Interactions is shared under a license and was authored, remixed, and/or curated by Gary L Bertrand, David Johns, Joel Guess, & Joel Guess. Dipole-Dipole interactions result when two dipolar molecules interact with each other through space. When this occurs, the partially negative portion of one of the polar molecules is attracted ...

  4. Hace 2 días · Definition. 00:00. …. Diploid is a term that refers to the presence of two complete sets of chromosomes in an organism’s cells, with each parent contributing a chromosome to each pair. Humans are diploid, and most of the body’s cells contain 23 chromosomes pairs. Human gametes (egg and sperm cells), however, contain a single set of ...

In physics, a dipole (from Greek δίς (dis) 'twice', and πόλος (polos) 'axis' [1] [2] [3]) is an electromagnetic phenomenon which occurs in two ways: An electric dipole deals with the separation of the positive and negative electric charges found in any electromagnetic system. A simple example of this system is a pair of charges of equal ...

  6. Dipole-dipole forces occur between molecules with permanent dipoles (i.e., polar molecules). For molecules of similar size and mass, the strength of these forces increases with increasing polarity. Polar molecules can also induce dipoles in nonpolar molecules, resulting in dipole–induced dipole forces. Created by Sal Khan.

  7. Introduction. When atoms in a molecule share electrons unequally, they create what is called a dipole moment. This occurs when one atom is more electronegative than another, resulting in that atom pulling more tightly on the shared pair of electrons, or when one atom has a lone pair of electrons and the difference of electronegativity vector points in the same way.
