Dmitry Nikolayevich Senyavin or Seniavin (Russian: Дмитрий Николаевич Сенявин; 17 August [O.S. 6 August] 1763 – 17 April [O.S. 5 April] 1831) was a prominent Russian admiral during the Russo-Turkish and Napoleonic wars.

El 4 de noviembre de 1798, el escuadrón ruso-turco de Ushakov, formado por tres buques de guerra, tres fragatas y varios barcos pequeños, comenzó el sitio de Corfú. Poco después se les unieron una escuadra turca y otra rusa bajo el mando del capitán Dmitry Senyavin.

Dmitry Nikolayevich Senyavin or Seniavin was a prominent Russian admiral during the Russo-Turkish and Napoleonic wars. He was the successor of F. F. Ushakov: in the Battle of Athos, D. N. Senyavin developed the tactics used by Ushakov — to attack the column by several groups, directing the main blow against the Ottoman flagships.
In response, Russia retaliated in March 1807 by sending a small fleet of ten battleships and a frigate under the command of Russian Admiral Dmitry Senyavin to blockade the Dardanelles Strait at the Aegean Sea.
Dmitry Nikolayevich Senyavin, an outstanding Russian fleet commander of the late XVIII century, was born on 6 August 1763. His ancestor, Naum Senyavin, was famous for the brilliant victory won in the battle nearby Ezel Island in 1719 during the Northern war.
