8 de may. de 2024 · Alexander of Islay or Alexander MacDonald (died 1449; Scottish Gaelic: Alasdair MacDomhnaill, Dòmhnallach or MacDhòmhnaill) was a medieval Scottish nobleman, who succeeded his father Domhnall of Islay as Lord of the Isles (1423–1449) and rose to the rank of Earl of Ross (1437–49).

13 de may. de 2024 · Bunnahabhain (‘Bu-na-ha-venn’): the only distillery to use pure spring water from the Margdale river, so that their whisky remains unpeated –producing a drink that’s lighter in character. Caol Ìla (‘Cull-eel-a’): the largest distillery, producing both peated and unpeated single malts.
7 de may. de 2024 · The whiskies. Not surprisingly, each distillery produces a very unique and different whisky. Despite the island’s reputation and primary style, there were – until the 2000’s – two distilleries that made only an unpeated whisky, namely Bruichladdich and Bunnahabhain.
