It is built on a steep-sided hill above a small harbour and shingle (gravel) beach on Lyme Bay of the English Channel.

El balón fue arrastrado hasta Dorset (Inglaterra) después de realizar un gran viaje oceánico a través del Atlántico, y luego fue devuelto al mar.
