Duchess Auguste Albertine of Mecklenburg (1782–1782) After Friederike's death in 1782, Charles married her sister Princess Charlotte of Hesse-Darmstadt on 28 September 1784 in Darmstadt. [8] Charlotte died on 12 December 1785 shortly after giving birth to their son Duke Charles of Mecklenburg (1785–1837).

Duchess Auguste Albertine (born and died1782) – died at one day old Friederike’s mother died in May 1782, just days after giving birth to her last child. The family left the Altes Palais and moved to Schloss Herrenhausen, also in Hanover, where Friederike and her siblings were raised by a governess, Frau von Wolzogen.
On 22 May 1782, Friederike aged 4 lost her mother who died three days after giving birth to a daughter, Auguste Albertine, who would only live for one day. Following the death of her mother Friederike and her family moved out of the Old Palace and into Schloss Herrenhausen.
