Duchess Marie Louise of Mecklenburg-Schwerin ( German: Herzogin Marie Luise Friederike Alexandrine Elisabeth Charlotte Catherine Mecklenburg-Schwerin; 31 March 1803 – 26 October 1862) was the Duchess of Saxe-Altenburg.
A prominent hostess in Saint Petersburg following her marriage in 1874 to the Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich of Russia, she was known by many as the "grandest of the grand duchesses". [1] Appearance and personality Marie was noted for her attractiveness and sense of style.
