When Philbert, prince of Orange died in 1530, his sister's son René of Breda inherited the Princedom of Orange on condition that he used the name and coat of arms of the Châlon-Orange family.

Why didn’t these elected monarchs/monarchies work out? After WW1, three monarchies were formed in Eastern Europe: United Baltic Duchy, Kingdom of Lithuania, Kingdom of Finland. Duke Adolf Frederich Albercht Heinrich of Mecklenburg-Schwerin was elected Duke of the United Baltic Duchy. He was never crowned/sworn in and was only Duke-elect.
10 de abr. de 2024 · On 7 February 1901 in The Hague, she married Duke Henry of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Nine months later, on 9 November, Wilhelmina suffered a miscarriage, and on 4 May 1902 she gave birth to a premature stillborn son. Her next pregnancy ended in miscarriage on 23 July 1906.

29 de mar. de 2024 · The tiara was created for Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna (born Marie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin), probably around the time of her marriage to Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich of Russia in 1874. It was made by the Russian court jeweller Bolin.
