When Eisenhower’s presidential library was being planned, it was widely believed that the president had been born in Abilene, Kansas, where he grew up. He thought so himself until his mother corrected the record. Eisenhower had in fact been born in Denison, Texas.

They had a ten-day honeymoon, spending the first days in Colorado, then a few days visiting the Eisenhower family in Abilene, Kansas.
