It consists of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire (except for North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire), Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, and Rutland.

East–west routes are operated by TransPennine Express to Manchester and Liverpool.
