Hace 4 días · Con apenas unos meses de diferencia, dos críticos utilizaron el término film noir en textos publicados en 1946 que analizaban una serie de películas recién estrenadas en Francia, como Laura (1944), de Otto Preminger, y El enigma del collar (Murder, My Sweet, 1944), de Edward Dmytryk, que en Estados Unidos se habían promocionado como historias de detectives o melodramas criminales.
Hace 2 días · This was notably preceded by 1954’s The Caine Mutiny, in which director Edward Dmytryk (famed for being one of The Hollywood Ten) expertly adapted Herman Wouk’s novel for the big screen. After a failed attempt by Wouk himself, screenwriter Stanley Roberts was brought in to adapt the novel, and had much trouble trimming it down to cinematic size.
