Edward Albert Feigenbaum (born January 20, 1936) is a computer scientist working in the field of artificial intelligence, and joint winner of the 1994 ACM Turing Award. He is often called the "father of expert systems."

Edward Feigenbaum was born in Weehawken, New Jersey, in 1936. He holds a B.S. (1956) and Ph.D. (1960), both from Carnegie Mellon University. His dissertation was supervised by legendary computer pioneer Herb Simon and explored a pioneering computer simulation of human learning.

Feigenbaum (born 1936, New Jersey) is an interdisciplinary computer scientist who pioneered Expert Systems and the knowledge-based approaches to artificial intelligence. He completed his undergraduate degree and Ph.D. at Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University).
