Edward Montagu, 1st Baron Montagu of Boughton, KB (c. 1562 – 15 June 1644), also known as Sir Edward Montague of Boughton Castle, was an English politician. Life. Montagu was the son of Sir Edward Montagu and his wife Elizabeth Harington, a daughter of James Harington of Exton.

The second creation was for Edward Montagu, 1st Baron Montagu, son of William Montagu, 2nd Baron Montagu and Elizabeth Montfort. He was summoned to Parliament from 20 November 1348 to 20 November 1360 by writs directed Edwardo de Monte Acuto, 'whereby he is held to have become Lord Montagu'. He died 14 July 1361.

26 de abr. de 2022 · 'Edward Montagu, 1st Baron Montagu of Boughton (1562/3 – 15 June 1644) was an English politician. His support for King Charles I led to his arrest in August 1642. He was imprisoned for a time in the Tower of London but was moved to the Savoy due to ill health and died a prisoner in 1644.[1]
