Heraldic achievement of the Earls of Sandwich. Earl of Sandwich is a noble title in the Peerage of England, held since its creation by the House of Montagu. It is nominally associated with Sandwich, Kent. It was created in 1660 for the prominent naval commander Admiral Sir Edward Montagu.

21 de feb. de 2022 · For his pains he was made a Knight of the Garter on 26 May 1660 and elevated to the peerage as Earl of Sandwich on 12th July though he did not give up his seat in the House of Commons until 24th. Edward was killed at the Battle of Solebay in 1672. Images.
