I dont know that it was necessarily the single most significant, but the most interesting to me personally was the Battle of New Orleans. Future president Andrew Jackson leading a combination of Militia, Army, and (temporarily) pardoned pirates against Major General Sir Edward Pakenham who had previously fought, won, and was awarded against Napoleon Bonaparte.
