The 3rd Earl of Derby. Arms of Sir Edward Stanley, 3rd Earl of Derby, KG. Edward Stanley, 3rd Earl of Derby KG (c. 10 May 1509 – 24 October 1572) was an English nobleman and politician. He succeeded his father as Lord of Mann until his death, and then was succeeded by his son.
Born in Lathom, Henry was the eldest son of Edward Stanley, 3rd Earl of Derby and his second wife, Lady Dorothy Howard. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk and his wife Agnes Tilney (1478–1545), daughter of Hugh Tilney of Boston and Eleanor Tailboys. [1] He was married on 7 February 1555 to Lady Margaret Clifford.

Edward Stanley, 3rd Earl of Derby (c. 1508–24 October 1572) was an English nobleman. At the age of thirteen, Edward received the titles and estates of his father, the 2nd Earl of Derby, and King Henry VIII took responsibility for bringing him up until he was of age.
