Eleftherios Venizelos (Ελευθέριος Κυριάκου Βενιζέλος) has been named the most prominent politician in Greece’s modern history. Born on the 23rd of August 1864 in Chania, Crete he was the fifth child of Kyriakou Venizelou and Stylianis Ploumidiaki.
