Elisabeth of Bavaria (Elisabeth Gabriele Valérie Marie; 25 July 1876 – 23 November 1965) was Queen of the Belgians from 23 December 1909 to 17 February 1934 as the wife of King Albert I, and a duchess in Bavaria by birth.

Elisabeth was the fourth of ten children born to Duke Maximilian in Bavaria (1808–1888) and Princess Maria Ludovika (1808–1892), a union that was certainly no love match and overshadowed by the couple’s diametrically opposed outlooks on life. Her father was descended from a collateral line of the Bavarian royal house of Wittelsbach.
