With Horace Walpole's manuscript annotations in brown ink in lower margin identifying the sitters and their relationships and a note: "The original picture at Strawberry Hill."

14 de abr. de 2024 · Sir William Waldegrave, married firstly Elizabeth (d.1581), daughter of Thomas Mildmay and secondly Grizelda, daughter of William Paget, 1st Baron Paget While on a visit to Calais late in 1554, perhaps in connection with the arrival of Cardinal Pole, Waldegrave fell sick.

30 de abr. de 2024 · In 1811, the House passed to Walpole’s great niece, Elizabeth Waldegrave, and then to her grandson, John Waldegrave. John died prematurely, passing the house to his brother, George, the Seventh Earl of Waldegrave.

Sir Robert Rochester and Sir Edward Waldegrave held Bennington Park as feoffees to her use, but after Rochester's death in 1557, Waldegrave transferred it to Sir John Butler.
