Sir John Wyndham married Elizabeth Sydenham, the daughter and co-heiress of Sir John Sydenham of Orchard, Somerset, within the parish of Watchet. Through his wife he inherited the manor of Orchard, which later became known as Orchard Wyndham, which estate is occupied today by his descendants.
Elizabeth Wyndham was the daughter of Sir William Wyndham, 3rd Bt. and Lady Catherine Seymour. She married Rt. Hon. George Grenville, son of Richard Grenville and Hester Temple, Countess Temple, in 1749. She died on 5 December 1769. When Lady Elizabeth Windham was born in 1590, in Tredegar, Monmouthshire, Wales, her father, Thomas Wyndham, was 16 and her mother, Susan Clere, was 14. She married Thomas N. Morgan in 1619, in Wales. They were the parents of at least 4 daughters. She died on 18 October 1666, in her hometown, at the age of 76.
