Erik Johansson Vasa was born in 1470, in Örbyhus, Uppsala, Sweden as the son of Johan Kristiernsson Vasa and Birgitta Gustafsdotter Sture. He married Cecilia Månsdotter Eka in 1495. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 5 daughters. He died on 8 November 1520, in Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden, at the age of 50.
