4 de may. de 2024 · Ernest Aldrich Simpson (6 May 1897 – 30 November 1958) was an American-born naturalized British shipping executive best known as the second husband of Wallis Simpson. He was a partner with the City shipbroking firm Simpson, Spence & Young.

The divorce papers show that he gave his wife Wallis a gentleman's divorce, in Ipswich so as to keep it out of the newspapers.

Ernest was then still married to Dorothea Webb Dechert, with whom he had a daughter named Audrey (born in 1924).
