Evangelos Averoff-Tossizza (Greek: Ευάγγελος Αβέρωφ Τοσίτσας) (Trikala, 17 April 1910 – Athens, 2 January 1990) was a Greek politician, leader of the New Democracy party (1981–1984), member of parliament, and author.

The offspring of a historically prominent family and the grandnephew of the national benefactor Georgios Averoff, he was raised in still alive tradition of beneficence and his own Vlach heritage that maintains closeness to the earth, nature and the Greek ideal.

3 de nov. de 2014 · The museum was opened in 1988 by politician and art aficionado Evangelos Averoff-Tositsas (or Tossizza) as a home for the collection. Today, it is in the care of his daughter, Tatiana Averoff, who has continued her father’s legacy and enriched the institution’s collection and program of activities.
