Evelina Gertrude de Rothschild (25 August 1839 – 4 December 1866) was an English socialite and a member of the Rothschild banking family of England . Biography. Evelina de Rothschild was the daughter of Baron Lionel de Rothschild (1808–1879), the first openly unconverted Jew to sit in the British House of Commons.
Evelina de Rothschild was born in London on 25 August 1839, the daughter of Lionel and Charlotte. She was popular with all her siblings, but especially close to Leo with whom she shared a similar sense of humour. A frequent visitor to Paris where her sister Leonora had lived since her marriage in 1857, Evy revelled in the salons of James and Betty.

Sir Evelyn de Rothschild owned homes in London, New York City, Martha's Vineyard, and Buckinghamshire, where he lived at Ascott House, a country estate owned by the National Trust. He died at his home in London, after suffering a stroke, on 7 November 2022, at the age of 91.
