Esto ha formado parte de la creación de un imaginario colectivo en el que tuvo mucha importancia la historiografía decimonónica.

A Hohenstaufen, he pursued his dynasty’s imperial policies against the papacy and the Italian city-states. He also joined in the Sixth Crusade (1228–29).

She had no potential buyers and remained there until 2005, eventually being sold to the breakers and was scrapped in Alang, India in late 2005. The Big Red Boat III, formerly Carnival Cruise Line's Festivale, was also sold for scrap.

He was the last Hohenzollern monarch titled King in Prussia, declaring himself King of Prussia after annexing Royal Prussia from the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1772.
