KELLERMANN, FRANÇOIS CHRISTOPHE DE (1735–1820), duke of Valmy and marshal of France, came of a Saxon family, long settled in Strassburg and ennobled, and was born there on the 28th of May 1735. François Christophe Edmond de Kellermann, 3rd Duke of Valmy (1802-1868) was a statesman, political historian, and diplomat under the July Monarchy. [1] He was the son of François Étienne de Kellermann and the grandson of marshal François Christophe de Kellermann. [1] Elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1842, he retired from politics in 1848.
