François de Lorraine, Grand Prieur de France de l'Ordre de Malte (18 April 1534 Joinville-6 March 1563) was a French noble and soldier, who fought during the latter Italian Wars. Second youngest of the sons of Claude, Duke of Guise and Antoinette de Bourbon , the Grand Prior was selected for a life with the Order of Malta .

François de Lorraine, 2nd duke de Guise, (born Feb. 24, 1519, Bar, France—died Feb. 24, 1563, Orléans), French soldier and loyal servant to the French crown, the greatest figure produced by the house of Guise. He fought in Francis I ’s army and was badly wounded at the siege of Boulogne (1545), earning him the nickname “the Scarred.”
Louis de Lorraine was born in 1527 the fourth son of Claude, Duke of Guise and Antoinette de Bourbon. His brothers François, Duke of Guise, Charles, Cardinal of Lorraine, Claude, Duke of Aumale, François de Lorraine, Grand Prior and René, Marquis of Elbeuf were born in 1519, 1524, 1526, 1534 and 1536 respectively.
