Frances Alsop (née Daly; 1 September 1782 – 2 June 1821) was an English actress. She was the illegitimate child of Richard Daly (1758–1813), manager of the Smock Alley Theatre , Dublin, and the actress Dorothea Jordan née Bland (1761–1816).

Frances Alsop (née Daly; 1 September 1782 – 2 June 1821) was the illegitimate child of Richard Daly (1758–1813), manager of the Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin, and the actress Dorothea Jordan née Bland (1761–1816).
Frances was born in 1782. She was the daughter of Richard Daly (1758 - 1813) and Dorothea (Bland) Jordan (1761 - 1816). She passed away in 1821. In 1806 she changed her name to Frances Bettesworth, in order to receive a financial bequest from an elderly and wealthy gentleman of that name; a deal negotiated by her mother.
Frances Daly (also called Fanny; born in September 1782; she later changed her name to Frances Bettesworth in 1806 and married Thomas Alsop in 1807; she died 2 June 1821). Jordan's work with Richard Daly helped establish her as an actress in Dublin until the two separated and she left for England.
