Dr. Frances Stewart Frances Stewart is the Canada Research Chair in Northern Wildlife Biology, Assistant Professor, and Wilburforce leader in Conservation Science at Wilfrid Laurier University. Her passion for wildlife biology began canoeing through Ontario's protected areas where she was able to watch moose, wolves, birds and reptiles.
Our work involves field projects, modelling, and communication and collaboration with local peoples. Prior to joining Laurier, I was a postdoctoral research scientist at Natural Resources Canada (Victoria, BC) where my collaborators and I conducted several forecasting and risk analyses outlining boreal caribou management strategies.

This paper examines the dynamics of horizontal inequality in countries that have experienced ethnic conflict. This contrasts with previous studies which have focused on the effect of inequality on conflict. Understanding how conflict affects inequality serves to shed light on reasons behind conflict recurrence and slow economic development.
