He was placed under the ban of the Empire and his lands, titles and electoral dignity were confiscated and given to his Roman Catholic cousin, the Duke of Bavaria, who takes:

After imperial forces defeated Frederick V, she fled from Prague with the pregnant queen to the west. Shelter was denied to them along the way because the emperor forbade it as Frederick had been placed under an Imperial ban.

The King declared that he had no definite negotiations with the Elector, who had however informed him that if he were not disdained by his Majesty, he would supplicate for the hand of the Princess.
