STEFAN ZWEIG. (1881-1942) Stefan Zweig nació el 28 de noviembre del año 1881 en la ciudad de Viena (Austria) en el seno de una adinerada familia judía. Su madre era Ida Brettauer, mujer de ascendencia italiana cuya familia se dedicó a la banca, y su padre se llamaba Moritz Zweig, empresario textil. Tuvo un hermano mayor de nombre Alfred.
