Friedrich Franz, Hereditary Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (German: Friedrich Franz Erbgroßherzog von Mecklenburg-Schwerin; 22 April 1910 – 31 July 2001) was the heir apparent to the throne of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and a member of the Waffen-SS.

Frederick Francis IV (Friedrich Franz Michael; 9 April 1882 – 17 November 1945) was the last Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and regent of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. He inherited the throne when he was fifteen years old in 1897 and was forced to renounce it in 1918.

Because the same succession rules apply to the House of Mecklenburg-Schwerin with the death Hereditary Grand Duke Friedrich Franz in 2001 the senior branch of the House of Mecklenburg has become extinct in the male line, leaving Mecklenburg-Strelitz as the only surviving branch.
