Frits Thaulow was a Norwegian Impressionist painter. Born on October 20, 1847 in Christiania (now Oslo), Norway, Thaulow studied art in both Denmark and Germany. In 1879, he travelled to Skagen, Denmark’s northernmost town, to paint marine landscapes and scenes of nautical life.
