  5. George Gordon, 9th Marquess of Huntly (1761-1853) was the son of Charles Gordon, 4th Earl of Aboyne and Lady Margaret Stewart. He married Catherine Cope, daughter of Sir Charles Cope, 2nd Bt. and Catherine Bishopp, on 4 April 1791. He succeeded his father as 5th Earl of Aboyne on 28 December 1794.
