George Soane (1790–1860) was an English writer and dramatist. George Soane (left) with his elder brother John, 1805 portrait by William Owen in Sir John Soane's Museum, London. Life. The younger son of John Soane, he was born in London. He graduated B.A. from Pembroke College, Cambridge, in 1811.

Soane found out in 1824 that his son George was living in a Ménage à trois with his wife and her sister by whom he had a child called George Manfred. Soane's grandson Fred and his mother were both subjected to domestic violence by George Soane, including beatings and in Agnes's case being dragged by her hair from a room. [196]
