El objetivo de nuestra investigación ha sido reconstruir las principales líneas que nos permitan abordar el problema de la transgresión tal y como es expuesto por Georges Bataille en El erotismo (1957). Para ello nos acercamos a la fiesta y al sacrificio como sus dos manifestaciones paradigmáticas.
Georges Bataille, al morir en 1962 a los 65 años, dejó este libro prácticamente terminado entre sus incontables escritos que hoy constituyen ocho volúmenes de obras completas. Unicamente las últimas páginas han tenido que ser "reconstruidas" por su editor quien estableció así la edición definitiva de este texto en 1966.
