He was a first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II. He was married at St. Margaret's, Westminster on July 15, 1952 to Angela Dowding, with whom he had issue one son.
Lascelles was born at Goldsborough Hall, near Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, and was baptised with The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of York as his godparents.
